Leaving on a jet plane
Today was one unexpectedly beautiful day. I spent it with Jessica(a really close friend of mine), who was supposed to fly back home for Christmas last night, until her flight got cancelled because of the snow.
After I was done setting up this blog and a couple of other things, we decided to go to The Grove
It ‘s probably the biggest mall in the West Hollywood area and today was the last weekend before Christmas. Which not only means that today was the last weekend before Christmas (as if this wasn’t a good enough reason for people to go shopping), but it also means Farmers Market. The place was crowded.
Fake rocks and other hidden speakers were blasting out Christmas carols all around the place. A giant yet awful looking Christmas tree was standing in the middle of the square, right behind a tiny (way too tiny) reproduction of Santa with his sleigh and reindeer, who were suspended about 15 ft above the joyful crowd.
We were dragged to the heart of the Farmers Market by all the different odors in the air and decided to get some Mediterranean food. I wasn’t hungry so I din’t eat anything. Nothing except 10 jalapeños disguised as 1 innocent green pepper..That wasn’t fun.
We left and headed back to her place, where we watched a couple of episodes of The Office. Then she drove me back to my apartment. Her flight is confirmed, so she should be able to leave tonight. Which makes me one of the only people I know who’s still in town. Until tomorrow, which is when I’m flying back home. It’s only going to be 10 days before I come back here and I can’t wait!
Hence the title of this post, it’s a great song by John Denver, check it out.
Peace
